Busy place, get there early. Staff is extremely helpful. Food is amazing. I had the "Hungry Farmer". It was a delicious brunch.
Came to visit North Carolina from New York and was brought here. Along with the omlet and home fries I had I also had cheese grits and chicken and waffles. The food was absolutely scrumptious, the staff was welcoming and helpful and the service overall did not take too long. Great affordable food and delicious pastries.
I ordered the Farmers Breakfast with grits and Country Ham on the side. As I began to eat the first spoonful of grits and chew I noticed an unfamiliar texture in my mouth so I pulled it out. Guess what! It was plastic!! Like plastic from Saran Wrap. I called the waitress over and advised her. She apologized and said she was going to take it to her manager. The manager came to the table and apologized for the plastic and offered to take the grits off of my bill and assured me that the new grits were fine. Really!!! They came from the same damn pot!!! So now my party don't want their grits but you are only taking off $2. Needless to say I will not be coming here again. This was my first and last experience here!
Busy on Saturday morning but the wait was short. Great atmosphere here and good service. I was surprised that they did not have Eggs Benedict on the menu. Bigger surprise was that my Belgian waffle was just OK when I was expecting something extraordinary after reading all the hype about this place.
The food is delicious and the service is great! I highly recommend Baker's Kitchen. One of my favorite places to go in New Bern. Great atmosphere as we. The grilled salmon is on point. The veggie omelet and turkey and gouda sandwich are favorites also.
