On the other hand. There are times when the pets and owners are not compadible. Its not a good fit. I was diagnosed with an illness exactly one week after getting this sweet puppy, knowing i would not have the strength, energy or time to take care of the puppies needs. On 4 seperate occasions i called to have the puppy picked up. Each occasion i was manipulated and talked into keeping the dog. I did my best to take care of him, but ran into guilt, manipulation and inconvenience on their time and their schedule. I was told when getting the pet, there would be no problem returning him. That is not what i experienced.
I do feel like i was lied to and somewhat misled. After finally getting a return text (they text, not call and dont answer the phone when you do call)with the experince reaching its toll. I was met with a very nasty attitude,(again, to be fair, these volunteers have passion for what they do). Again...4 attempts over a 2.5 month period. I finally got them to take the pet back. I delivered the puppy so he could have a better home environment.
Less than stellar experience. To be fair, these employees have great passion for finding the right home for the right pet. They work hard, volunteer and often times spend their own money to ensure these beautiful, amazingly sweet animals find good homes. I couldnt do it.
I loved this dog and hated giving him up. The goid news, after this experience, neither one of us will have to deal with each other ever again. I strongly encourage anyone getting pets. Make absolutely sure you want the pet, make sure you can take care of the pet. Because it will be hell returning them.
When you have a dog on the adoptable page, and the dog is at a foster, it is not fair when I have submitted my application almost the day the dog was put on the site, to end up letting the foster family keep her. Not fair at All! Broke my heart. I sent of emails, phone calls, and an application with no response. I cime out to the Adoptathon to speak with somebody in person and find out the foster family just decided to keep her. What about my application that was put in first? Heartbroken and in tears!!!!
Was able to leave 2 stray kittens here. Hopefully someone will adopt since I couldn't keep them.
