Been going to Ambra for over a year and she does my hair like I describe every time and I am a very picky person!
I will never go back due to the out come of my service. After showing a picture of the way I wanted my eye brows done, she could not replicate the same eye brows, why are you in that business of cosmetics??? Then another lady came and tried to fix it and messed them up even worse. On top of that, I tired to give them a second chance and my sister just recently went in for a color change and they messed up her hair so bad that it is missing places on where it looks like they did fully do a whole color. My sister did not like the out come and they still charged her the full price of it. I could have done a better job with a box color from Walmart than that place. Never again will I ever go back. They lost my business. They have a lack in knowledge of their jobs. Rather than looking high end, you guys should produce high end outcomes for your customers.
I LOVE my new cut and color! Misty listened to my concerns with my hair, and did a great job addressing them! So, why only 3 stars? Well, although I will DEFINITELY go back, the time and personal service was lacking. I had an 11am appointment and got in right away, but was there til almost 5. Misty was very meticulous in applying my color up front, but another stylist was running behind and asked her to take her client. So, she hurried up finishing applying my color to get to the other client. No bueno. I sat with color on my hair for longer than I should've. When the other stylist finally finished she came over, checked my color and told Misty she would rinse me and apply complimentary deep conditioning due to the time waited. Misty replied that I had asked for that anyways...yes, I was charged for the deep condition. Then, the stylist told me the conditioner needed to stay on my hair for 10 minutes...it was on for almost 30 before Misty decided to leave the other client and come wash it out and get to finishing my hair. They called in the Owner to help out at this point. Why not sooner? I don't know. They only get 3 stars from me right now, but will have a chance to earn all 5 next time!
I loved this place! The interior was nice, the atmosphere relaxing and my stylist Ashley was very attentive to me and what I was looking for in a cut and color. She also offered me and eyebrow wax which I totally needed but didn't even think to ask. She was great! I'm booking with her again and the place is great. Nice staff, clean, spacious and professional.
I very rarely write reviews online but wanted to share my experience this time. I was unable to sleep last night because of muscle soreness and random aches. So first thing this morning I called a few spas in New Bern looking for a last minute appointment. Hot Locks had an available appointment with Athena Bernal who is fairly new to the area. I always hope for the best and prepare for the worst and today I got the best! It was literally the best massage I have ever had. Athena has healing hands and a calming spirit. I even prebooked my next appointment because she was so great. New Bern and Hot Locks are lucky to have her.
