Wonderful history lesson, the staff are dressed in colonial wear. They answered every question I had. Great place to visit.
Candlelight Christmas 2017 lovely to experience. But you'll need to make plans to dine elsewhere; unlike last year's event, with sumptuous fare available on the palace grounds -- there's just 1 food truck, outside the gates, with sparse menu choices. Great entertainment, costuming, atmosphere. Home tours include a chance for kids to visit Santa. Last minute Christmas shoppers will love the gift shop and helpful volunteers. great history lessons here. The $20.00 fee for seniors seems high. We were not allowed to see the gardens because a wedding was setting up. We will go back today and see if we can get in.
Great and informative piece of history. Conveniently located right next to the lesser known Tyrone's Place.
Went to their holiday candelight event. Toured palace and three other houses. The"tours" are not the full fledged tours u get during regular visiting. U may c about three to four rooms but u are entertained. Characters dressed as NC governor/wife, staff, etc. Was nice! Went to the back of palace at 930 for firework display. Prior to that, watched the Junkanoo performance in front of the palace. Was nice, pretty cool. Was told there would be food trucks (trucks -- plural.) There was one truck but that's ok. Still enjoyed ourselves. Nice for kids and old folks.
