This is the perfect place to stay in New Bern. Tracey and Gretchen are wonderful hosts and owners. The atmosphere and style of Harmony House reinforces its name: harmony - no disharmony at all with decor, history, open space for just sitting and relaxing (especially on the front porch swing on a cool fall evening!). Breakfast was superb. We look forward to our next visit.
Had a wonderful relaxing stay. Look forward to doing it again. It was my first B&B experience, but it want be my last. Couple that run it is amazing. Very clean. Very nice. Food and service was great, too.
To celebrate with my future daughter-in-law, the women from both families met in New Bern for a Special Girls Weekend. I was led to choose Harmony House after visiting several local B&Bs beforehand. The Inn keepers and their Inn were so warm and welcoming. It was the perfect gathering place! It was comfortable, very special yet felt homey; they went out of their way to accommodate our large group, breakfast each morning was fantastic, and the location was perfect. We parked our cars upon arrival and didn't need them again until we headed for home. Thank you Gretchen & Tracy for helping make our celebration so special.
My wife and I stayed for 5 nights at the Harmony House in September, and could not have been more pleased. Quiet, comfortable, inviting rooms. Fantastic breakfast each morning. New Bern is a great pivot point to explore the inner and outer coast, and this was the perfect home base. Thank you Gretchen and Tracy.
Loved it. Perfect location within walking distance of everything New Bern. Our room was spotless, well-appointed, and very quiet even though most of the other rooms were full. The room had individual A/C, wifi, and a smart TV. The house and its history are both interesting. The furnishings are nice and appropriate to the setting; the artwork has been tastefully chosen. Aside from the guest room itself there are reading, sitting, and tabletop game areas. Our hosts were fantastic and more than accommodating. And I haven't forgotten the wonderful breakfasts - so much more than the standard bacon and eggs. We'll be back.
