Several visits have made this a favorite stop in New Bern. Great service and food. The bar is awesome too! Expect great things when you go
Went for the first time Saturday night before the Candlelight Christmas at Tryon Palace. To our surprise we were seated immediately upstairs and we loved that room. It was decorated and had a lot of character. Ordered the Bounty; shrimp, oysters, scallops and it was very good. I’m picky about my seafood and it was cooked well. The wine and house salad were also good. Waitress was friendly and provided great service. I’ve heard they have a great breakfast and I’m looking forward to going back and trying that.
Clam chowder was milky and tasteless. Food was pricey, but bland...nothing special about it. I will say the staff was polite, but the waitress serving us was very mechanical.
Went today at the end of Mum Fest. Ordered the Bounty, which is fried shrimp, oysters and clams, served with a salad and one side, $19.00. Plate arrived, seafood was good but, the portions were 4 oysters, 6 shrimp and 2 so called scallops, which were the size of a quarter, round and flat on the top and bottom. Obviously not scallops, imitation scallops. Scallops are not flat on two sides and perfectly round. Oh, my wife ordered fried oysters and was brought fried shrimp. By the time she got her correct meal, I had about finished mine.
Excellent food and service!! The mini corn muffins - delicious. Fried green tomatoes with horseradish sauce and homemade salad dressings...very well done. Seafood - superb.
